OPENING NIGHT – LA CENERENTOLA
Join us on the opening night for Rossini’s jubilant adaptation of Charles Perrault’s Cinderella fairy tale - indisputably one of his most beautiful and comic of operas. What better place for Prince Charming and true love to find our Cenerentola than on a summer’s evening at the Palazzo Corsini in Florence. Enjoy dinner during the long interval and continue partying late into the night with jazz and swing.
Hao Zhou, young virtuoso and first-prize winner of the Montreal International Violin Competition, performs Sibelius’s Violin Concerto in D minor with the Orchestra Senzaspine under the baton of Maestro Maximilian Fane. Elgar’s Enigma Variations follow a long interval of dining in the gardens. Music continues with the traditional midnight concert at the church of Ognissanti with a programme of spiritual and choral music.
